The last 2 weeks at FFL has been great, great prasadam, great company and great team spirit.
Buddhi painted out the kitchen 2 weekends ago, so working in the kitchen is oh so dreamy! It's not just the paint job, but the magnetic knife holder! The wooden spoons hanging from the wall, the lamp shades are up, a new little alter in the kitchen, a new picture of Krsna and our Spiritual Master Srila Prabhupada. All these little bits and pieces make cooking for Krsna wonderful!
Today we had a wonderful day. It was lovely. Many guests now give donations, even if it's $1 or so, it creates a nice mood. But today was special, because we had a new volunteer and he was super efficient, Jo came and donated a huge bag of lemons from her tree, one lady brought in some beans, Angel came in and did a few dishes ( big pots included!) and another lady spontaneously volunteered to pre-wash all the dirty dishes and cleaned all the tables and will also be giving us seeds for planting in exchange for her meal! Sandhya popped in to give us some more containers and lids for the meals for the Salvation Army, and just when we thought that was it for the day, one youngster who eats at FFL regularly asked if he could do anything. "For SURE!" I said, and he swept out the eating area.
So why was it all so special? Because individuals spontaneously and in a loving spirit sacrificed their energy to serve a higher purpose through the FFL program.
It's early days at FFL Whangarei and we're smiling as energy is spontaneously given in love.
Goodnight FFL, goodnight volunteers and guests, we look forward to seeing you again tomorrow.
