fresh produce donated to food for life from growers market . 21 April 2012

Generous donations to Food for Life from Growers market last Saturday ...  Thank you !!!
Hmmm...what do we have here?

*A full 20 kg bag of fresh redskin potatoes,  * 2 savoy cabbages,    * 23 bags fresh rocket,    
* 20 bags fresh watercress,  *  3 squash,   * 1 bag pears,   * 2 fresh lettuce,  * 1 bag bay    leaves,
* 1 bunch fresh rosemary,  * 25 fresh green chillies,4 quince,  * 14 bunches fresh      coriander,
* 1 small bag limes,2 bags mandarins,  * 6 bags salad mix,  * 1 bag avocados ( 20 ),
* 1 radish,  * 1 large punnet gourmet tomatoes,  * 3 bags beans,
* 4 bags jerusalem artichokes, * 5 kamokamo,  *  2 bags feijoas,  * 1 bag apples ( 5 kg ),
* 3 pumpkin, * 3 medium watermelon, * 4 bunches silverbeet, * 5 bags carrots, 
* 1 crate of sweetcorn, * 1 crate of bok choy ...
all this wonderful produce will used prepared into tasty meals and distributed throughout the week at Food for Life.... Thank you to all the growers at the growers market : )

After the produce is collected it is refrigerated until it is peeled, chopped, grated, sliced, boiled, fried or otherwise prepared into delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals.

Due to our wonderful donors, we have managed to serve a fresh salad with every meal so far!
