I Would Like To Help! ...What Can I Do?
We can’t do what we do without the support of people like you and we greatly appreciate any donations we receive – no matter how large or small. Food for Life is a registered charity, so all donations are eligible for a 33% tax rebate from IRD .
Donate vegetables and/or fruits
We are always needing good quality fresh vegetables and fruit. The more we have available, the more people we can feed! (Please note that we do not cook any meat, fish, eggs, onion, garlic or mushroom). If you have some produce you wish to donate you can drop it off at Food for Life between 9.30am – 3 pm , Tues to Thursday or if outside these hours, contact Buddhi on 022 1218908 or it can be left at Gopals Takeaways, 6 Vine St.
Donate time
If you would like to volunteer some time to help in the kitchen preparing meals, or serving out, or cleaning up, or you have other skills you can offer (eg. trades like plumbing, electrical, or building is great!), we are very grateful. Please contact Buddhi or Suvarna on 022 1218908 or call in during open hours.
Donate Money
We are needing funds to set up the kitchen, pay the power and gas bills, for developing nutrition education programmes, and for purchasing supplies we are unable to get donated. We are very grateful for any contribution. We have a credit card option below however we are also able to give you a bank account number.
Your Donations Is Our Lifeblood
We provide lunches for decile 1 school children providing them with necessary nutrition and support for growing minds and bodies. We rely on the generous donations of food, money, time, and skills to do this.
Lunches cost just $2 each per child and schools are asked to pay $1 towards this. This leaves $1 that we have to come up with to cover the costs.
Imagine spending just $1 and having a child get a nutritious meal right here to NZ!
You are able to donate either one-off or as a recurring amount.
